Radiology Department
A team of 4 Radiographers, along with a Radiology
Assistant provide a high quality diagnostic imaging service to
all patients and departments within the hospital as well as
providing an Outpatient and GP services.
Our 12 radiologists have formed the group Sarum Radiology who
prides itself on being dynamic and progressive, covering all
radiological specialities. We have three specialized breast
radiologists, three specialized musculoskeletal radiologists and
two gastroenterology radiologists.

We are able to offer the following services:
General Radiography
All General Radiography Examinations
All types of barium studies
X-ray guided Facet and Foraminal injections for pain relief
Ultrasound
General including adbominal, thyroid, breast,
musculoskeletal
Ultrasound guided biopsies
Doppler (veins) - scans are carried out by a
Vascular technician
Nuchal Scans to detect Down's syndrome
performed at 12 weeks of pregnancy, as well as offering 'Look see'
and 'Well Being' 4D obstetric scanning. This service is
provided by 2 highly trained ultrasonographers.
MRI Scans
Ramsay Imaging provides a Mobile Service weekly on a
Wednesday.
Endoscopy
Endoscopy is an investigatin of a body cavity using an endoscope
for diagnosis or treatment. New Hall Hospital has a dedicated
team that offers these procedures:-
Colonoscopy - detects abnormalities in or
around the stomach
Flexible Sigmoidoscopy - examines the lining of the anus, rectum
and descending colon.
Gastroscopy - detects abnormalities in or
around the stomach.
For general radiography and some ultrasound examinations, the
department can see patients the very same day with the results
being immediately available. The department is able to see
patients within a week for all other appointments that require
preparations or a specialized radiologist.
