Treatments to temporarily reduce the appearance of fine
lines and wrinkles
Muscle relaxant injections are used for teating frown lines,
forehead furrows and eye lines (crows feet).
The injection works by relaxing the dynamic facial muscles that
cause facial wrinkles, blocking the nerve transmission to the
muscles under the skin. Facial lines formed by the movement of
underlying muscles then diminish and disappear.
Once the treatment is complete, the greatest effect is usually
seen after one or two weeks, and whilst not permanent, the more
relaxed, fresher look can last for between three and six
months.
Repeat treatments have been shown to last longer.
