Helping Nurses return to practice at New Hall Hospital

Helping Nurses return to practice at New Hall Hospital
Thursday 7 December 2017

New Hall Hospital is collaborating with Bournemouth University to assist Registered Nurses with returning to practice.

Nurses wishing to return to practice can undertake the university led course designed to enable nurses to re-enter registered practice with up-to-date competencies and with the current skills and confidence to maintain safe and effective standards of patient care.

As part of the course, nurses will be required to undertake a clinical placement, and Bournemouth University will advertise New Hospital as a location for the placements. New Hall Hospital will offer the student unpaid employment as an honorary member of staff to enable them to gain the required number of hours in practice. Once they have completed the placement, and have successfully sat an exam, they will then be returned to the NMC register. New Hall Hospital are hoping that those students who successfully return to practice following their placement at the hospital will stay on as employees. The next intake of students is in March 2018.
