Dermatology
Dermatology involves diagnosing and treating a wide range of skin and hair conditions. It covers common problems such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, moles and warts through to skin cancers and procedures that improve the aesthetic appearance of the skin and hair.
We are fortunate to have 3 experienced Dermatology Consultants, Dr James Hickey, Dr Serap Mellor and Dr Neena Nayak. They provide regular clinics at New Hall Hospital Hospital for the diagnosis and treatment of general dermatology problems including skin cancers.
New Hall Hospital offers surgical and nonsurgical treatment for patients based on their specific skin care needs. Our radiology department provides high-quality diagnostic imaging services and we have a multidisciplinary team of other specialist experts who can be involved in the management of complex cases. Our pathology services provide excellent support for our Consultants when investigating and managing skin disease.
Outpatient surgery is performed on a weekly basis for the excision of skin lesions (lumps or bumps on your skin) including moles, cysts, lipomas, warts and skin tags.
Nonsurgical treatments include cryotherapy for skin lesions (warts and keratosis), topical creams including steroids and immunomodulators for eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis. Isotretinoin (Roaccutane) for the treatment of severe acne and tablet treatment for bacterial, fungal and viral infections of the skin, hair and nails. We also offer nonsurgical cosmetic treatment including dermal fillers and treatments to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Additionally, allergy testing and advice is available.
