Ophthalmology is the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders and diseases.
At New Hall Hospital we see patients with a wide range of eye conditions. Common eye complaints we treat include: cataracts, strabismus, cornea conditions, glaucoma, age related macular degeneration (AMD), blepharitis, entropion, ectropian, floaters, retinal disease and diabetic retinopathy, myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia.
We also see people with chronic eye cancers and more complex eye health conditions such as retinal detachment and use small incision vitrectomy techniques that don’t require sutures for retinal detachment repair.
Our highly skilled consultant ophthalmologists have vast experience in general ophthalmology. They are all members of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. All of our Consultants hold a NHS Consultant post and are registered on the specialist register for surgery at the General Medical Council (GMC).
Our ophthalmologists can prescribe and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses or perform laser eye surgery to correct vision problems. They offer convenient appointments without waiting, provide first class diagnostic evaluations and use the latest surgical techniques for all your eye care needs.
